Micro Robot Contest

To enter this contest all you have to do is build the smallest robot you can in one of these three categories

Turbot, Walker, or Photovore.  This contest is much like Chiu’s contest way back when but, I just added two more categories. This contest is totally free and anyone can participate in it.

Prizes will be shipped out as soon as possible so keep checkin your mail box!

Now if your saying well I’ll just build a photovore because it’s the smallest thing. You still might not win even if its really small. The judging will be fair for each category. Granted you can build any of the three types for this contest, but if say a walker or turbot is really small for a turbot or walker it should score very high in this contest.

There are three categories on which each robot will be judged from 1-10:

Aesthetics-How neat is it laid out. Is it appealing to the eye. Good soldering

Smallness-How small can you make it? Surface mount transistors would be good here all though a                  very steady hand will be needed and tons of patients (trust me on this). The smaller it is the higher                                    the score.

Complexity-While remaining small how complex can you  make it. I’m afraid a Bare Bones, Fled                     photovore and the like will not score very high in this category as it just two simple so try to steer                  clear of thing like those.

The Robots you build will be judged in each of these categories and added up at the end. As a said before Turbots, Walkers, and Photovores will be judged according to themselves and not to other robots. So while your turbot may be bigger then a smaller turbot it could score high in the other two categories.

As for judges it will be, Dave Hrynkiw, Grant McKee (hopefully still waiting for his Email) and me.

The Contest starts now so GET BUILDING! This contest ends On December 1st(now moved to Dec. 10th) so more then enough time to order your parts and just in time for your prize to become a Christmas present.

You must have means of posting the pictures on the net or be able to send the pictures to me so that I can post them on this page. A Few shots are required of your robot: Front, Back, Side and get as good as possible can of the electronics. Also these pictures should be on top or next to a ruler so we get a sense for the size (please include the dimensions). Also with your robot a good description about your robot should be included. Like what you used for constructing the frame ,electronics parts used circuit, etc.. If possible a movie or someway of showing the behavior of your robot would be much appreciated but not required.

Also if you do not have a way to get your Robot on the web you can either send your robot to me and I’ll take pictures for you and send it back to you or you can send me regular pictures and I’ll scan them into my comp. and put it on this page. All you have to do is Email me.

You can only enter one robot into this competition. That way it will keep things fair. Also this competition is for BEAM technology only. Anyone who uses any other method will be disqualified. Also if there is any fakes you will also be disqualified.

When you're done with your Robot, you can enter the contest by sending me an e-mail. Please include...

                 -Your name

-Your Robots name (if You can’t think of one I will assign one HAHAHAHA)

-The URL of the website with your Robot images

                 -Your e-mail address

                 -You mailing address

Finally if you have any questions or comments please send them to me at Veritas21885@hotmail.com If you can tell this competition is based on Chiu’s competitions. It was a good format so I based this on it.
